SUPPLY CHAIN SOLUTIONS

Cross Docking

When stock arrives at a cross-docking facility, it is simply unloaded from the trailers or pallets onto the DC’s conveyor system. This transports the stock to the conveyor sortation system, where individual items are sorted to their relevant shipping lane, making it a very efficient operation with no put-away and no replenishment required; just one touch through the DC.

Receiving

Stock arriving on pallets is typically handled using forklifts/pallet trucks or, Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV), pallet conveyor system or transfer car. Cases arriving block-stacked in delivery vehicles or shipping containers are normally unloaded and consolidated onto pallets, which are then staged for put-away in the DC’s pallet racking system.

Shipping

WCS directs the loading and reverse-drop sequencing of orders, and then ‘closes’ and certifies loads on the delivery vehicle/shipping container, improving order assembly flexibility, and automatically generates shipping manifests, order documentation and man and machine-readable labels.

ORDER PICKING SOFTWARE

Pick-to-Light

Is ideal for fulfillment operations processing a medium to high number of orders, with a low to medium number of lines per order.

  • Increased productivity and accuracy plus reduced labor hours and errors provide a fast ROI.

Put-to-Light

Is commonly used in e-commerce and direct to-consumer order fulfillment.
It is ideal for companies with a large number of products, batch picking multiple orders at once.

  • The put system directs sorting of the batches into individual direct-to-consumer orders.

WAREHOUSE SOFTWARE

Light Directed Picking System

Pick-to-light systems employ visual cues to increase both speed and efficiency in the picking process. Categorized as a “paperless” picking solution, pick-to-light solutions can be used with static storage such as pallet racks and shelving, as well as with a vertical lift module (VLM) or other automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS).

Not only can pick-to-light applications indicate what items to pick, they also can indicate how many and other pertinent details. As such, light-directed picking systems can increase pick rate productivity and order accuracy by reducing the time spent seeking items and perusing paperwork.

Carton Flow combined with Pick to Light increased picking performance by up to 50% with this paperless picking system.A digital display signals how many products should be taken from each channel.

Voice Activated Picking Systems

The Voice Recognition/Response System allows people with no computer skills to achieve manual sorting/picking by talking with normal conversational speech. This system translates spoken words and numbers into carrier bin numbers or route IDs according to carrier route scheme tables. The carrier codes are displayed or communicated by voice commands to the picker advising them of the bin location.
